TATTOO FAQ

How do I pay a booking fee?

You can pay via bank transfer, Paypal or pop into the shop with some cash. We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am till 5pm.

The amount is dependent on the price of the tattoo and will be deducted from the overall cost on the day of your tattoo.

When can I see the design?

I’ll always endeavour to show you a design at least one day prior to the session but please note this is not always possible. Most other tattoo artists will only show you a design on the day - one reason for this is art theft and another is that I have a number of designs to plan and complete in the run up to your appointment.

I’m always happy to make small changes on the day. If you aren’t sure about something please be honest! I’m happy to keep drawing until it’s perfect for you.

Can I change my idea/design?

You absolutely can, although I will need at least 7 days notice for this change. Any huge changes to the design cannot be made on the day as a full redraw will be required so please try to let me know at the earliest possibility.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes although I require at least 72 hours notice. If you fail to get in touch before then you will be required to pay a new booking fee for a new appointment.

Can you tattoo over scars?

Yes, although the decision varies person to person. Scars should be at least 2 years old and I’ll need to see the area first to assess whether they can be covered. Please note most covers will take a little longer to heal and will likely require a touch up. We offer privacy screens for these types of appointments and consultations so please let me know if that’s something you’d like for your session.

Can I bring a friend?

We are a small private studio therefore bringing someone with you isn’t ideal unless absolutely necessary (for example, if you require a carer). If you really need to bring someone, it should only be for appointments that take less than an hour and your friend will need to stay in the waiting area unless there is a medical issue.

Tips for a tattoo first timer?

Get a good night sleep before the big day, have a substantial breakfast and drink lots of fluids! I’d also recommend bringing some sugary drinks and snacks to your appointment to keep your blood sugar levels up.

Please feel free to ask me as many questions as you like regarding the process and if you think you might need a little break just holla!

Best way to contact me about our session?

For non-urgent enquiries please email me at [email protected], and for anything that can’t wait please message me on Instagram (@handling.tattoo) and/or the studio (@aurorabloomtattoo).

What is your minimum charge?

Each resident artist varies but my minimum charge is £80.

What form of payment is accepted on the day?

You’ll need to bank transfer/PayPal on the day or bring cash with you. We don’t have a card machine at the studio.

What about aftercare?

I’ll talk aftercare through with you after we have finished the tattoo, please ask as many questions as you like, there are no silly questions! I’ll also give you a free aftercare pack which includes instructions, stickers and a small pot of Yayo Familia tattoo cream.
